Ecofin Le Gabon prépare l’obtention de 139,3 millions € (près de 91,3 milliards FCFA) en prêt de la BIRD, notamment pour financer le projet d’Harmonisation et d’amélioration des statistiques en Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre – Série de Projets 2 (Hiswaca), et le projet Gabon Digital.
Le ministère gabonais des Comptes publics a annoncé avoir soldé les impayés qui ont récemment valu au pays une suspension de la liste des éligibles aux financements de la Banque internationale pour la reconstruction et le développement.
« À ce jour, le ministère des Comptes publics, par l’intermédiaire de la direction générale de la comptabilité publique et du trésor, a déjà procédé au paiement de ces impayés. L’ensemble des échéances de dette au profit des autres créanciers multilatéraux est en cours de paiement et devrait être totalement apuré d’ici quelques jours » indique le communiqué ministériel relayé par Le Nouveau Gabon.
Les autorités gabonaises expliquent aussi le retard de règlement des échéances dues au guichet non concessionnel du groupe de la Banque mondiale par des « raisons techniques ». La BIRD n’a pas encore émis de commentaire sur cette apuration, mais le Gabon devrait logiquement redevenir éligible aux appuis financiers l’institution.
