Le fonds d’investissement providentiel, Innovate Africa Fund, a récemment été lancé par les associés Kristin Wilson et Christian Idiodi (photo). De sources médiatiques, l’on apprend que ce véhicule a été constitué avec un déploiement initial de 2,5 millions $. Il ciblera une vingtaine de start-up africaines en phase de démarrage, au cours de sa première année d’opération.
Le véhicule vise à accompagner de jeunes entreprises de la phase d’idéation à celle de l’adéquation au marché. Il proposera un investissement moyen de 50 000 $ et un programme d’accompagnement comprenant des conseils d’experts, la mise en relation avec un réseau de partenaires ainsi qu’une assistance technique.
« Ayant été témoin des difficultés auxquelles sont confrontés les jeunes entrepreneurs africains, nous savons que les idées brillantes manquent souvent de ressources dont elles ont besoin pour véritablement prospérer. Il ne s’agit pas seulement de financement, il s’agit d’une expertise approfondie et de liens solides », a déclaré Mme Wilson.
En Afrique, les start-up en phase de démarrage ont des difficultés d’accès aux financements ainsi qu’à un accompagnement stratégique, soutient Kristin Wilson.
« Business News Africa » est un magazine économique et financier, édité par le cabinet-conseils Sédar Business Group Sarl (SBG Sarl). Ce magazine à parution mensuelle, est publié avec un supplément permanent « Mining – Oil & Gaz Business » qui couvre toute l’’actualité dans le secteur des mines, du pétrole et du gaz.
