Rwanda : 1 279 millions dollars investis dans le secteur énergétique en 2019

Au Rwanda, 51 % des investissements de l’année 2019 ont été réalisés dans le secteur de l’énergie. Cette donnée a été communiquée par l’agence de développement nationale du pays.

En effet, 2,5 milliards $ ont été injectés dans l’économie rwandaise, un chiffre en hausse de 22,6 % par rapport à celui de l’année 2018. Sur ces fonds, 1 279 millions $ ont été consacrés au secteur de l’énergie.

613 millions $ ont été débloqués pour le projet de construction de la centrale hydroélectrique de Ruzizi. 442 millions $ ont été investis dans Gasmeth Energy, une entreprise intervenant dans le secteur de l’énergie et des hydrocarbures, notamment sur l’extraction du gaz de méthane dans le pays. 152 millions $ ont également été injectés dans la fabrication de voitures électriques et 72 millions $ sont allés au profit de projets de centrales solaires.

Sur l’ensemble des 2 500 millions $ investis dans le pays en 2019, 44 % ont été fournis par des coentreprises intervenant localement. 37 % sont le fruit d’investissements directs étrangers et 19 % ont été alloués par des entités rwandaises. Ces financements ont permis la création de 35 715 emplois.

Le gouvernement s’est donné pour objectif pour les prochaines années, la création de 200 000 nouveaux emplois chaque année et une croissance annuelle de 10 % des investissements réalisés.
