Le Maroc va affecter 1,07 milliard $ à la lutte contre le coronavirus. Le nouveau montant sera décaissé via un fonds dont la création a été ordonnée le week-end dernier par le roi Mohammed VI (photo).
Il s’agira essentiellement pour le nouvel organisme d’atténuer les difficultés économiques liées à la gestion de la crise du nouveau coronavirus dans ce pays maghrébin. Ainsi, le fonds soutiendra le secteur de la santé publique, principalement en couvrant les coûts urgents de la modernisation de ses infrastructures.
Cette annonce intervient dans un contexte marqué par un niveau de propagation de plus en plus inquiétant de la pandémie. A la date du 15 mars 2020, 28 cas ont été enregistrés dans le pays dont un décès. Un niveau bien en dessous de la tendance en Europe et en Asie, mais qui a quand même poussé les autorités à suspendre les liaisons aériennes avec 29 pays et à stopper le trafic maritime des passagers.
