Exploitation minière : le ministre Biram Soulèye Diop attendu mardi à Ndendory

APS – Le ministre de l’Energie, du Pétrole et des Mines, Biram Soulèye Diop, est attendu, mardi dans la région de Matam pour une visite dans la zone d’exploitation de la mine de phosphate de Ndendory, dans le département de Kanel (nord-est), a-t-on appris de source officielle.

Après la visite de la mine exploitée par la Société minière de la vallée (SOMIVA), Biram Soulèye Diop va rencontrer les représentants des communautés riveraines, peut-on lire dans une lettre circulaire du gouverneur de la région, Mouhamadou Moctar Watt.

Il est aussi prévu des échanges avec les parties prenantes au contentieux sur l’indemnisation des populations locales impactées par l’exploitation minière.

Ces dernières continuent de réclamer des indemnisations à la SOMIVA qu’elles accusent d’exploiter des champs leur appartenant moyennant une indemnisation qu’elles jugent ‘’dérisoires’’.

Plus de 1000 propriétaires de champs sont concernés équivalant à une superficie totale de 127 hectares.

Du fait de ce contentieux sur le montant d’indemnisation, l’exécutif régional a récemment décidé de suspendre l’exploitation de la mine jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
