La Turquie va envoyer au Sénégal 12 tonnes de matériel médical dans le cadre de la lutte contre la Covid-19, a annoncé, mardi, le président de la République alors que le pays est frappé de plein fouet par une troisième vague plus diffuse et davantage meurtrière que les précédentes.
’’J’ai eu un entretien ce jour avec le Président Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Je lui ai exprimé notre solidarité au peuple turc suite aux incendies qui affectent la Turquie. Il m’a assuré du soutien de la Turquie dans la lutte anti Covid avec l’envoi de 12 tonnes de matériel médical’’, a tweeté Macky Sall.
Le Sénégal est confronté a une troisième vague de Covid-19, avec une hausse des contaminations et du nombre de décès sous l’effet du variant Delta.
Mardi, le ministère de la Santé et de l’Action sociale a fait état d’un nombre record de 31 décès liés à la Covid-19 et 336 nouvelles contaminations pour le compte des dernières 24 heures.
Depuis le 2 mars 2020, un total de 68.348 personnes ont contracté le virus au Sénégal, 51.566 ont, depuis, recouvré la santé, 1526 en sont mortes et 15255 patients sont encore sous traitement.
Concernant la campagne de vaccination démarrée en février dernier, le ministère de la Santé et de l’Action sociale renseigne qu’à ce jour, 1.051.082 personnes ont reçu au moins une dose de vaccin.
