Le ministre des Infrastructures, des Transports terrestres et du Désenclavement, Mansour Faye, a annoncé lundi à Kaolack (centre), le démarrage pour bientôt des travaux du chemin de fer Dakar-Bamako pour améliorer le transport entre le Sénégal et le Mali.
“Nous allons remettre le rail en service pour améliorer le transport entre le Sénégal et le Mali. Pour bientôt, les travaux vont démarrer. Et, dans un premier temps de Dakar à Tambacounda. Sur cet axe, nous allons faire du rail métrique et ultérieurement réalisé des voies et écartement standard”, a déclaré le ministre.
Mansour Faye accompagnait une délégation malienne venue présenter ses condoléances aux familles des victimes de l’accident survenu récemment à Kaolack.
Quatre personnes ont été tuées dans une collision entre un taxi et un camion de transport de marchandises immatriculé au Mali, dans le centre-ville de Kaolack. L’accident a également fait un blessé grave.
“A Kaolack, il y a une très forte présence de la communauté malienne. Et idem au Mali. Dans la dynamique de ces relations, à travers le corridor, nous allons travailler davantage pour améliorer le transport”, a-t-il assuré.
L’autre alternative consiste à réaliser l’autoroute Mbour-Fatick-Kaolack qui ’’va arriver en contournant la ville de Kaolack, une grande agglomération”, a t-il laissé entendre.
Selon lui, cette autoroute va permettre à certaines catégories de véhicules de pouvoir continuer leur chemin vers le Mali sans traverser la ville de Kaolack.
