Amadou Hott, ministre sénégalais de l’Économie, du Plan et de la Coopération et Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Directeur Général du Fonds Saoudien de Développement, ont signé mardi à Dakar l’accord de financement du projet.
Le gouvernement du Sénégal exécute une stratégie de désenclavement des localités du Nord du pays à travers la construction de voies de communication. La signature de l’accord de financement du projet de réhabilitation et de bitumage du tronçon Oréfondé-Nguidjilogne s’inscrit dans ce cadre.
Cette route sera financée par le Fonds Saoudien de Développement pour un montant de 176,2 millions de riyals, soit près de 31 milliards F CFA. Selon Amadou Hott, ministre sénégalais de l’Économie, du Plan et de la Coopération, son pays « ne ménagera aucun effort afin de garantir la réussite de la mise en œuvre de cet important projet » grâce notamment à « une accélération des procédures ».
Pour sa part, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Directeur Général du Fonds Saoudien de Développement, a déclaré que « le projet visant à élargir la route Oréfondé-Nguidjilogne conformément aux normes de l’Union économique et monétaire ouest-africaine (Uemoa), facilitera les échanges commerciaux (entre cette zone et le reste du Sénégal) et réduira les accidents ».
Le partenariat liant le Fonds Saoudien de Développement et l’Etat du Sénégal remonte à la fin des années 70. A ce jour, des financements de 1783 millions de riyals saoudiens, soit plus de 300 milliards F CFA, ont été conclus dans les secteurs des infrastructures routières et de l’hydraulique, de l’énergie, de l’agriculture, de la santé et de l’éducation.
