Transports : Le Cameroun dispose de plus de 10 000 km de routes déjà bitumées, selon le Ministre des Travaux publics

Agence Ecofin – La prochaine étape du segment « infrastructures routières » dans la Stratégie nationale de développement 2020-2030 du Cameroun prévoit notamment la construction de 6 000 km de routes supplémentaires.

Dans une récente sortie médiatique, le ministre camerounais des Travaux publics, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, a indiqué que « le linéaire global du Cameroun est estimé à 121 873 kilomètres avec 10 225,58 km de routes bitumées au 31 décembre 2023 ».

Le pays a donc fini par franchir la barre des 10 000 km de bitume l’année écoulée, alors qu’il en était à 9 539,5 km en 2022 rapporte Investir au Cameroun.

L’Etat envisage maintenant de construire 6 000 km supplémentaires de routes bitumées, comme indiqué dans la ‘’Stratégie nationale de développement 2020-2030’’ (SND30), feuille de route décennale du plan gouvernemental « Cameroun, pays émergent à l’horizon 2035 ».

Environ 3 000 km de routes doivent également être remises à niveau et/ou entretenues, dont notamment les axes très fréquentés de Edéa – Kribi et de Ngaoundéré – Garoua.
