Le projet aurifère guinéen Kouroussa change officiellement de mains. Déjà actif au Mali sur la mine d’or Yanfolila, la compagnie Hummingbird Resources a bouclé l’acquisition de ce projet qui devrait lui permettre de devenir un producteur d’or sur plusieurs actifs en Afrique de l’Ouest.
En Guinée, le projet d’or Kouroussa appartient désormais à Hummingbird Resources. La compagnie a annoncé mardi la finalisation de l’accord de rachat du projet auprès du Canadien Cassidy Gold.
« Boucler cette transaction nous donne davantage de confiance pour avancer sur les initiatives visant à mettre Kouroussa en production et à transformer Hummingbird en une société productrice à plusieurs actifs », a commenté le PDG, Dan Betts (photo).
Avec le bouclage de cette transaction, Hummingbird pourra réaliser les synergies prévues entre le projet et sa mine Yanfolila. Cela devrait lui permettre d’accélérer la construction et l’entrée en phase de production de Kouroussa pour lequel des volumes annuels de 100 000 onces sont attendus sur la durée de vie initiale de 5 ans.
