Le secteur privé du Nigeria a déjà levé 66,7 millions de dollars pour appuyer l’Etat dans sa lutte contre le Covid-19, a annoncé la Banque centrale.
Cette campagne de levée de fonds dénommée Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) initiée par la Fondation Dangote et le groupe bancaire nigérian Access Bank, se fixait l’objectif de réunir 57 millions USD.
Le secteur privé va ainsi bâtir sept centres d’isolement dans les grandes villes (Kano, Lagos, Abuja, Maiduguri, Port-Harcourt…), et chercher à augmenter les capacités de diagnostic du Nigeria.
Jusqu’à ce jour, 782 cas de Covid-19 ont été confirmés au Nigeria dont 197 guéris et 25 décès.
