Nouvelles technologies : Smart Africa et Huawei s’allient pour renforcer la transformation numérique en Afrique

Huawei a annoncé le 24 juin la signature d’un protocole d’accord (MoU) avec Smart Africa, une alliance de 40 pays africains en charge de l’agenda numérique de l’Afrique. Ce partenariat vise à renforcer la formation des talents en TIC, le transfert de connaissances ainsi qu’à promouvoir la coopération technique pour la transformation numérique de l’Afrique

Communiqué: Lors de sa visite au siège de Huawei à Shenzhen, la délégation de Smart Africa et les représentants des organisations qui lui sont affiliées : African Network of Cyber Security Agencies (ANCA), Council of African ICT Agencies (CAITA) et Council of African Regulators (CAR), ont pu découvrir les dernières innovations technologiques et les tendances de l’économie numérique. Cet événement a marqué le début d’un partenariat prometteur, ouvrant la voie à une collaboration renforcée entre les deux parties pour dynamiser le secteur des technologies de l’information et de la communication (TIC) en Afrique. Cette initiative met en lumière l’importance de favoriser la synergie entre les acteurs du secteur, qu’ils soient du secteur public ou privé

Commentant ce partenariat, le Vice-président de Huawei, M. XUE Man, a salué l’engagement de toutes les parties prenantes : “Depuis 2019, nous coopérons avec Smart Africa au développement du numérique en Afrique. La poursuite de ce partenariat est un élément clé de notre ambition et nous en sommes donc très satisfaits. Nous sommes persuadés que cette alliance constitue un cadre solide et dynamique pour continuer à investir dans le développement du numérique en Afrique.”

Une opinion que partage également M. Lacina KONÉ, le Directeur Général et Président de Smart Africa : « Nous sommes très heureux de nous joindre à Huawei pour contribuer au renforcement des capacités dans les TICs en Afrique. Ensemble, nous nous engageons à explorer et accélérer les opportunités de transferts de connaissances et de compétences en matière de transformation numérique pour le bénéfice de nos pays membres. »

Jeremy LIN, Vice-président exécutif de Huawei Northern Africa (Afrique du Nord, de l’Ouest et Centrale), et son homologue de Huawei Southern Africa, M. WAN Wei ont exprimé leur satisfaction suite à cette annonce et ont souligné que cette alliance démontre la confiance de leurs partenaires locaux et renforce leur philosophie “En Afrique, pour l’Afrique”.

En s’unissant pour développer les compétences numériques et promouvoir l’innovation, Smart Africa et Huawei contribuent à consolider la construction d’un marché numérique unique en Afrique.

Smart Africa est une alliance de pays africains, d’organisations internationales et d’acteurs du secteur privé mondial chargés de l’agenda numérique de l’Afrique. L’alliance s’appuie sur l’engagement audacieux et novateur des chefs d’État africains d’accélérer le développement socio-économique durable du continent et de faire entrer l’Afrique dans l’économie de la connaissance grâce à un accès abordable au haut débit et à l’utilisation des TIC.

Avec la vision de créer un marché numérique unique en Afrique d’ici 2030, l’Alliance Smart Africa rassemble des chefs d’État qui cherchent à accélérer la digitalisation du continent et à créer un marché commun. Lancée en 2013 par sept (7) chefs d’État africains, l’Alliance compte aujourd’hui 40 pays membres, représentant plus d’un milliard de personnes, et plus de 50 membres du secteur privé engagés dans la vision et le progrès de l’Afrique. (Les partenaires de l’Alliance Smart Africa sont l’Union africaine, l’UIT, la Banque mondiale, la Banque africaine de développement, la Commission économique des Nations unies pour l’Afrique, la GSMA, l’ICANN et d’autres entreprises).
