Sénégal –Hydrocarbures : les productions initiales de pétrole brut et gaz naturel envisagées à partir de mai 2024

Agence Ecofin – Mi-février, les parties prenantes du projet gazier Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) ont accueilli l’unité flottante de liquéfaction de gaz associée alors que le Sénégal rejoignait dans la foulée officiellement le forum des pays producteurs de gaz.

Selon des informations relayées le 8 mars citant une intervention d’Antoine Félix Diome, le ministre de l’Energie et du Pétrole du Sénégal, les projets pétrogaziers en cours de développement dans le pays en l’occurrence Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) et le projet pétrolier Sangomar devraient livrer leurs productions initiales au cours de cette année.

En ce qui concerne le projet gazier Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) achevé à 92,5 %, son opérationnalisation est attendue pour le troisième ou au début du quatrième trimestre 2024. Actuellement, l’unité flottante de production, de stockage et de déchargement (FPSO) associée au projet subit des travaux de réparations clés en Espagne alors qu’il y a quelques semaines, son unité flottante de liquéfaction de gaz (FLNG) a atteint les côtes sénégalaises.

Pour ce qui est du projet pétrolier Sangomar, il affiche un niveau d’avancement de l’ordre de 95 %. Le FPSO Léopold Sédar Senghor ayant été livré en février dernier, les parties prenantes prévoient la production initiale du site entre mai et juillet 2024.

Par ailleurs, des modifications sont signalées concernant le projet de développement du gisement gazier Yaakar-Teranga duquel BP s’est retiré en raison d’un désaccord avec le gouvernement sur la stratégie commerciale. L’exploitation de ce gisement gazier à travers la conversion en électricité est prévue pour soutenir le plan d’autonomisation du Sénégal.
