Agence Ecofin – Au terme de l’exercice financier 2022, le Groupe Sonatel avait affiché un résultat net consolidé de 279 milliards FCFA. Ce chiffre représentait une croissance de 10,5 % par rapport aux 252,4 milliards FCFA de 2021.
Le groupe télécoms Sonatel, présent au Sénégal, au Mali, en Guinée, en Guinée-Bissau et en Sierra Leone, a annoncé avoir enregistré un bénéfice net consolidé de 331,7 milliards de francs CFA (548,8 millions $) au terme de l’exercice financier 2023. Il s’agit d’une hausse de 19 % par rapport aux 279 milliards FCFA enregistrés en 2022. Le chiffre d’affaires consolidé de 1 620,7 milliards FCFA en hausse de 11,4 %.
Sonatel attribue principalement cette performance à des investissements importants pour répondre aux besoins croissants des clients dans « un contexte volatile, marqué par le renforcement de l’intensité concurrentielle et des défis socio-économiques ». Au cours de l’année, les dépenses d’investissements de la société se sont élevées à 253,5 milliards FCFA.
Le groupe attribue également sa performance à une croissance de ses activités mobiles, Orange Money et très haut débit sur tous les marchés (grand public et entreprises) et dans tous ces pays de présence. En 2023, Sonatel a vu son parc d’abonnés pour les services fixe, mobile et Internet croître de 6 % pour atteindre 41,1 millions. Le nombre d’abonnés inscrits à Orange Money a augmenté de 19,8 % pour atteindre 31,6 millions, dont 11,7 millions sont actifs.
En 2024, Sonatel entend poursuivre sa stratégie d’opérateur multiservices en accélérant ses leviers de croissance que sont : le très haut débit fixe (fibre) et mobile (5G, 4G), et le marché entreprise. « Nous continuerons de renforcer nos positions sur le marché du Mobile Money en nous appuyant sur l’IA et le digital, notre superApp Max it et en développant de nouveaux produits pour une expérience client améliorée », a déclaré Sékou Dramé , directeur général de la société.
