L’homme le plus fortuné d’Afrique, le milliardaire nigérian Aliko Dangoté a récemment enregistré une baisse de sa fortune. En effet, selon les données disponibles sur Bloomberg Billionnaires Index, (BBI), un classement quotidien des personnes les plus riches du monde, Aliko Dangote a perdu quelque 3,12 milliards de dollars
Cette baisse de la fortune du milliardaire intervient 24 heures seulement après l’annonce de la Banque Centrale du Nigéria (CBN). Celle-ci indiquait qu’elle avait adopté un taux de change unifié pour les devises notamment le dollar, afin de stabiliser la monnaie locale (le naira) jugée dépressive depuis plusieurs années. Selon le site d’informations économiques nigérian Nairamétrics, c’est la dépréciation du naira nigérian par rapport au dollar américain qui a entraîné cette perte de devises
Il souligne que les investissements locaux sont pourtant performants. Notons que le compatriote de Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu a aussi vu sa fortune fondre de 2, 73 milliards de dollars. Le milliardaire est à la tête de BUA Group, un conglomérat de premier plan dans les secteurs de l’alimentation, des infrastructures, de l’exploitation minière et de la fabrication.
