La société des Grands trains du Sénégal (GTS) a pour ambition de faire du transport ferroviaire une réalité à l’intérieur du pays, a indiqué, dimanche, à Ndoffane (Kaolack, centre) son directeur général, Mame Samba Ndiaye.
“Le chef de l’État m’a confié la société des grands trains du Sénégal pour que je puisse faire du transport ferroviaire une réalité à l’intérieur du Sénégal”, a déclaré Mame Samba Ndiaye lors d’une cérémonie organisée à son honneur, à Ndoffane , département de Kaolack.
Mame Samba Ndiaye a annoncé que les Grands Trains du Sénégal (GTS) seront bientôt en service pour un véritable transport de masse après la mise en service du Train Express Régional (TER)”.
L’ancien maire de Ndoffane s’est félicité du succès de la première opération de sortie des GTS avec une première rame réversible de 240 places assises dont 76 en 1ère classe.
Elle a quitté Dakar le samedi 26 février à destination de Tivaouane. Le Directeur Général des GTS promet que d’autres rames vont suivre.
