La somme globale des cautions déposées pour les prochaines locales dépasse le milliard de franc Cfa.
La Caution pour les élections locales avait été fixée à 15 millions de francs Cfa pour chaque type d’élection (communale et départementale). Selon Libération, au niveau de la Caisse des dépôts et consignations (Cdc), 67 coalitions ou partis ont déposé une caution pour les communes.
Dans ce lot, 21 ont aussi déposé pour les départements ou villes. Ce qui fait un total de 88 dépôts de caution pour la rondelette somme de 1, 320 milliards de Fcfa.
Ainsi, selon les textes, dans les communes, la caution est remboursée 15 jours après la proclamation des résultats, si la liste de candidats présentée a obtenu au moins un conseiller élu dans chaque commune visée. Si la liste est présente que dans une seule commune, la caution est remboursée quand elle obtient au moins cinq conseillers élus.
En ce qui concerne le scrutin départemental, la caution est remboursée à la même période si la liste a obtenu au moins un conseiller dans chaque département ou elle est présente. Si la liste cible un seul département, il faut au moins trois conseillers pour obtenir la restitution de la caution.
